I love reading other people’s food blogs, just as much as I like writing and cooking. Having a vast network of other writers and kitchen experimenters is wonderful: tons of ideas, and plenty of cooks to answer questions or give suggestions.

So, I’ve made a list of the Michigan-based food writers whose blogs I like checking out. Some are vegetarian, some are not— but all are great writers and photographers.

Oh She Cooks is at the top of my list: vegan recipes, and restaurant and product reviews from Grand Rapids. I’ve liked following her recent trip down to Austin, TX, and the vegan goodies she discovered there. (She also has a page for visitors to Greece.)   http://ohshecooks.com/

MI Gluten Free Gal is a great source for all things gluten-free in Michigan. Lots of product reviews, and a great breezy writing style— I feel like we’re chatting in the grocery store. miglutenfreegal.com

For excellent coffee house recommendations and wonderful travel photos, check out the adventures of elATLboy. Love the photos, the musings and reflections, and the passion for both travel and coffee. http://elatlboy.com/

I really like the writing style of Provence in Ann Arbor, who writes about French-themed recipes from Washtenaw, and has interesting reminiscences with her recipes. http://provenceinannarbor.wordpress.com/

Just A Grain of Salt has good travel stories, as well as restaurant reviews and food news from Grand Rapids. Good eye for photography. http://justagrainofsalt.wordpress.com

Kung Food focuses on photos and food preparation. Not many posts, but lovely photos when they do.

The Lemon Bowl is not all-vegetarian, but does focus on recipes with a healthy (and inexpensive!) bent. Also has gluten-free and vegan recipes, based in Grand Rapids.

Rachel Cooks has a focus on easy preparation. Not all veggie, but here’s hers index of vegetarian recipes. http://www.rachelcooks.com/category/vegetarian/

What food blogs are you reading? Any good blogs I should check out?
